Prof. dr. hab. Tomasz Wesołowski
Prof. dr. Tomasz Wesołowski is the director of the
Bird Ecology Institute at the Wroclaw University.
For 30 years he has been carrying out research in the area
of Bialowieza Forest and fighting for its better protection
insisting on national & international agenda to treat the whole
forest as a national park. He is an author of many scientific works
presenting the need for a bigger protection of the Forest but also appeals
to politicians and international commitees. In 2006 together with
a delegation of the international group BISON (Bialowieza International
Solidarity Network) he went to the Office of Polish President demanding
enlarging of the national park. He has spoken in public many times about
this matter - in tv programmes, on the radio and in the press.
